Frances D. Buchanan 72 of Broadway died Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at her home. A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late William Winfred and Nellie Rose McCauley Dickens. Mrs. Buchanan was an active member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held Friday, March 26, 2010 at 2 pm at Holly Springs Baptist Church, Broadway. The Rev. Jerry Parsons will preside. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held at the church fellowship hall on Thursday from 6-8 pm. and other times at her home.

Survivors included her husband, Ross Buchanan; daughters, Rose Hartsell and husband Vick of Broadway, Anne Hockett and husband Herschel of Randleman and Hope Buchanan of Broadway; son, Keith Buchanan and wife Susan of Broadway; sister, Alice Dickens of Broadway; grandchildren, Victor Hartsell, Kathryn Hartsell, Meredith Hockett, Benjamin Hockett, Andrew Hockett and Abby Buchanan.
