Mrs. Faye Powell Yow, 73, of Lillington died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Obie Powell and Bertha Davis Powell.
Mrs. Yow was unselfishly devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Holland.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, November 17, 2013 at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel with Rev. Janet Buffaloe and Rev. Michael Sadtler officiating. Burial will follow in Summerville Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Mrs. Yow is survived by her husband of 54 years, Melvin Yow of the home; mother, Bertha Davis Powell of Lillington, 3 daughters, Gloria Eller and husband Shawn; Diane Stewart and husband Michael; Barbara Newton and husband Bryan all of Lillington. She was the proud Me Ma of Jacob and Joshua Eller; Bradley and Davis Stewart; Ross, Lindsey, and Mackenzie Newton; brother, Leon Powell and wife Delia of Lillington; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
