Mrs. Faye M. Upchurch, 78, of Lillington passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Wade Clarendon and Hassie Elizabeth Brown Mason. In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her daughter, Allison Upchurch Smith; brother, Reynolds Mason; sisters, Alva Lee Thomas (Rex), Janie Seagroves(Charles); twin sister, Kay Upchurch (Bennie) and beloved neighbor Margaret Griffin O'Quinn Patterson, "Ma-Ma".

Faye worked as a bookkeeper for Wilbourne Furniture and McDonald Furniture for many years. After retiring from McDonald Furniture, Faye enjoyed working around the house. She loved to iron, cook, and especially share cakes and fudge with friends and neighbors. Faye was an active member of Spring Hill United Methodist Church in Lillington where she served in multiple capacities including the prayer shawl ladies, former youth leader, and choir member. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as "Nana".

Faye is survived by her husband of 60 years, Durward Upchurch of the home; daughter, Angie Upchurch Jordan of Mamers; 4 grandchildren, Garrett Kevin Jordan of Conway, SC, Logan Elizabeth Smith (Nick Weaver) of Mamers, Evan Wade Jordan (Katlyn Cole) of Conway, SC, and Connor Bradley Smith of Greenville, NC; sister, Libby Mason of the home; son-in-law, Bradley Smith of Lillington; special nephews, Al Upchurch (Brenda) of Broadway and Jason Upchurch of Lillington; special great-nephew, Tripp Chandler (Jennifer) of Sanford.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 PM Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Spring Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lillington. A graveside service will follow at 4:00 PM in the church cemetery with Rev. Dr. Bobby Rackley officiating.
