Mrs. Evelyn Gary, 56, of Sanford passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford. She was born in Geneva, NY, the daughter of the late Daniel and Evelyn Sullivan. Prior to the birth of her son Ian, she worked as a Biochemist for Mobil Chemical in Macedon, NY. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking and homeschooling Ian. Evelyn tethered the family together during Richard's four deployments. Evelyn was the foundation stone of her family.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Richard Gary of the home; son, Ian Gary of the home; 3 sisters, Margie, Amy and Darlene all of New York; nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday December 21, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington.
