Mrs. Ethel Parrish Royer, 83, of Lillington died Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Central Carolina Hospital.

She was born in Waco, Texas on July 29, 1931 to the late James Monroe Sims and Ethel Lou Marshall Sims. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Mrs. Royer worked at Patrick AFB in Florida in the Public Information Office and retired from Civil Service. She also owned and operated a restaurant and catering business in Myrtle Beach, SC. Mrs. Royer loved to entertain friends and family at her home.

She is survived by a son, William Herman Parrish III (Sonny), Lillington; daughters, Dicque Sue Walz of Cocoa Beach, FL and Marshall Leigh Parrish of Lillington, granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Walz of Austin, Texas, grandson, Jacob Parrish Walz of Tallahassee, FL, brothers, Bobby Sims of Hubbard, TX and Charles Ray Sims of Santa Maria, CA.

Celebration of life will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, May 17, 2015 at O'Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3:00-4:00 PM and other times at the home of Marshall Parrish.
