Mrs. Esther Norris, 84, of Linden passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late George and Delipha Ingram. Mrs. Norris was a life long member of Layton Chapel Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for the nursery. Esther worked and retired from Red Kapp after many years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Utley Norris, son, Curtis Norris and brother, Worth Ingram.

Esther is survived by 3 sons, Dennis E. Norris of Linden, Charles Lee Norris and wife, Diane of Holden Beach, NC, Donnie Norris and wife, Denise of Raeford; 2 daughters, Sue Hicks and husband, Mike of Micro, NC and Teresa Rowe and husband, Tim of Spring Lake, NC; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Layton Chapel Baptist Church in Spring Lake with Rev. Steve Swagger and Rev. John Chancey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday from 2:00-3:00 PM and other times at the home.
