Mrs. Elizabeth Hockaday, 91, of Spring Lake passed away Friday February 4, 2022 at her home. She was born in Sampson County, the daughter of the late Mack and Bertha Herring. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edgar Hockaday; daughters, Rebecca Ann Mauney and Phyllis Diane Hockaday; son, Steve Edward Hockaday; grandson, Jason Wayne Paradise; brothers, George and Earl Herring. She was a long time and faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church in Bunnlevel.

Elizabeth is survived by a son, Harry James Hockaday (Shirley) of Garner, daughter, Betty Dawson of Raleigh, son, Tony Glenn Hockaday (Joy) of Spring Lake, daughter, Tammy Lynette Benson (Sean) of Spring Lake; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Harmony Baptist Church in Bunnlevel.
