Elizabeth Ann Holt Gilbert, 77, of Fuquay-Varina, NC, passed away, Friday, February 17, 2023 at her home.

Elizabeth was born August 17, 1945 in Wake County, NC to the late Arthur Lee Holt and Eva Mae Holleman Holt. She was employed with Fuquay-Varina Pharmacy from 1969-1974.  In 1974, she established and operated Elizabeth's Daycare until 1999.  In 2000 she began working at Elliott's Pharmacy in Fuquay-Varina, retiring in 2010.  She was a member of Baptist Grove Baptist Church.  In her spare time, she enjoyed vacationing with her family in West Jefferson, Maggie Valley, and Holden Beach.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Early Wayne Gilbert; son, Gary Wayne Gilbert; sisters, Mary Lena Green, and Betty Lou Bush; brothers, James Holt, and Earl Holt

Elizabeth is survived by her son, Scott Gilbert and wife, Laura; sisters, Judy Holt, and Brenda Woodall; brothers, Billy Holt, and George Holt; four grandchildren, Tyler Gilbert and wife, Summer, Brianna Gilbert, Wyatt Gilbert, and Cody Gilbert; and her beloved great grand dog, Stella.

A funeral service will be held 2pm Monday, February 20, 2023 at Baptist Grove Baptist Church, 6119 Christian Light Rd., Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526, with Rev. Ben Pearce, Rev. Paul Jones, and Rev. Richard Stribe.  Burial will follow the service at the Gilbert Family Memorial Gardens, 1064 Cotton Rd., Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.  The family will receive friends 6pm – 8pm Sunday, February 19, 2023 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home, 1310 S. Main St., Lillington, NC 27546.
