Edna Matthews Norris, 89 of Lillington died Sunday, November 13, 2016 peacefully surrounded by her family at the SECU Hospice House.

Edna was born August 10, 1927 in Harnett Co. to the late William and Emma Johnson Matthews. Edna was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Norris, Sr; grandson, Steven Wayne Norris; great granddaughter, Samantha Norris and all her siblings.

Edna was a member of Lillington Presbyterian Church. She was a loving wife of 59 years, mother and always known as "Nanny" to her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking and loved making Southern dishes.

Edna is survived by 5 children, Woodrow Norris, Jr. and wife Dyanne of Lillington, Monroe Norris and wife Sheila of Winston-Salem, Carolyn McPherson and husband Alex "Pete" of Lillington, Johnnie Mack Norris and wife Angie of Fuquay-Varina and Buddie Ray Norris of Lillington; 8 grandchildren, James Monroe McPherson, Jennifer Norris Setzer, Christopher Stacey Norris, Benjamin Eric Norris, Eric Von Norris, Casey Martin Norris, Maxwell Jacob Norris and Savannah Grace Norris and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 18, 2016 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Pat Chisenhall officiating. Burial will follow at Harnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, November 17, 2016 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home.
