Mrs. Edith Gray Moss Johnson, 87, of Lillington passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at her home. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Raymond Moss and Ruth "Big Mama" Coley Moss. Mrs. Johnson was owner/operator of Edith Gray's Beauty Shop for 67 years. She enjoyed her grandchildren, cooking, traveling, attending horse shows and playing cards with her friends and customers. Mrs. Johnson was an active member of Lillington Baptist Church and Pleasant Union Christian Church. She was a kind hearted, generous and giving person. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her son, James Coley Blaylock and husbands, Harold G. Blaylock and Louis Lavon Johnson.

Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Friday, October 30, 2015 at Pleasant Union Christian Church with Rev. Terry Beatty officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Friday from 1:00-3:00 PM.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her son, Harold "Hal" G. Blaylock, Jr of Angier and granddaughter, Ruth Scott and husband, Lonnie, great-granddaughter, Annabelle; daughter-in-law, Cindy Blaylock of Lillington and granddaughter, Lauren Strickland and husband Chad, great-grandchildren, Jody, Callie and Leah; granddaughter, Crystal Blaylock-Gee and husband Mike; step-daughter, Laverne Johnson and husband Carl of Lillington, grandchildren, Lloyd Johnson, Andrea Johnson and Jessica Johnson, grandson Scott Johnson (deceased), great-grandson, Noah Johnson; step-daughter, Deborah Womble and husband Johnny of Lillington, grandsons, Adhamh Womble and great-granddaughter, Clara Womble, Andrew Womble and wife Christiana and Seth Womble; step-daughter, Hollie Wade and husband Terry of Lillington, granddaughter, Audrea Christensen and husband Josh, great-granddaughter, Katie, granddaughter, Amanda Wade; step-daughter-in-law, Joyce Johnson and grandchildren, Angela Johnson and Lewis Johnson. She is also survived by her dear friend, Daisy Lasater of Lillington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Union Christian Church designated to assist the elderly in the community, 2164 Neills Creek Rd., Lillington, NC 27546.
