Mrs. Edith Allred Edwards, age 85, of Buies Creek, NC passed away at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness on Saturday, March 17, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 2, 1926 in Henderson, NC, the youngest child of William H. and Mary-Kathryn Allred. She was the widow of the late Robert J. Edwards, who she married on February 1, 1947.

She is survived by her family including her daughter, Charlene Edwards of the home; Vivian Jackson and husband Christopher of Erwin; April Chalk and husband Terry of Erwin; Jason Valencia and wife Christine of Raleigh; niece, Margaret McDaniel of LaCrosse, VA; granddaughters, Christina Jackson and Elizabeth Jackson; numerous nieces and nephews and her grand-dog, Cassie.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dunn with Father Paul Parkerson officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Memorial Gardens in Lillington. The family will receive friends at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM and other times at the home.
