Mr. Dougald G. "Doug" McCauley, 78, of Lillington, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, February 05, 2021, while surrounded by his loving family.

Doug was born October 3, 1942, in Harnett County to the late Ernest and Elizabeth McCauley.  He worked at Southern States, Inc. for 45 years before retiring.  He was a member and Deacon at the church he loved so dearly, Harmony Baptist Church.  He loved to mow grass, eat chocolate ice cream and drink Grape Kool-Aid.  Above all else, he adored his family.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at 5:30 pm at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Carl Graham presiding.  The family will speak to friends following the service.

Doug is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nadine McCauley; four daughters, Lisa Byrd and husband, Tommy, of Linden, Renee Cooley of Lillington, Heather Young of Lillington and Peggy Johnson of Lillington; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Linda Cummings and Shirley McCauley, both of Sanford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Alzheimer's Association 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or Parkinson's Foundation 200 SE 1st Street Suite 800 Miami, FL 33131.

In accordance with current North Carolina COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home requests that everyone in attendance practice social distancing and wear a face covering.
