Fuquay-Varina

Dottie C. Knott passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at her home after 34 months of fighting lung cancer.

Born in Johnston Co. to Ruby and the late Walter Currin. She was also preceded in death by her brother Bruce Currin.

Mrs. Knott is survived by her husband of 51 years, Douglas E. Knott of the home; son, Richie Knott and wife Christal; grandchildren Catrina and Cody Knott all of Fuquay-Varina; son, Chris Knott and wife Amy, and grand daughter Emory Knott all of Cary; mother, Ruby Gibson of Fuquay-Varina; 2 sisters, Kay Powell and husband Jim and Bonnie Wade and husband Dick; 2 brothers Ronnie Currin and wife Gail and Tim Currin and wife Jenny all of Fuquay-Varina; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Rawls Baptist Church, with Rev. Clarence Hardison, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the church prior to the service. A private burial will be held at a later date.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Jeffrey Crane, MD, Denise Pescaro, NP, and the entire staff at Rex Cancer Center. Amy Weiss Friedman from Horizons Home Care, Lucy Coombs of Horizons Palliative Care, Marna Peacock and Kim Nelson both of Hospice of Wake Co., and her caregiver Angela Mangum.
