Dorothy Horne Johnson, "Roberta," passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 5, 2020. Born April 9, 1938 in Cedar Creek, North Carolina, she was the oldest of Myrtle and Purdie Horne's five children. In 1954, she married Bobby R Johnson, a soldier in the army. During their 65 years of marriage, they raised three children: Teresa Johnson Wiggs, Bobby R Johnson Jr., and Pamela Johnson Cardona. Together they moved all over the world to Kentucky, Tennessee, Germany, and Japan but North Carolina was always home and they returned to celebrate their retirement in the 1970s. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Johnson; son, Bobby Johnson, Jr.; brothers, Jerry and John; and sister, Mary Emma Ruple. Roberta is survived by her daughters, Teresa and Pam; sister, Willa Horne McIntosh; a granddaughter; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
