Mrs. Dorothy H. Jones, 97 of Fayetteville died Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Highland House in Fayetteville, NC.

She was born in Fort Graham, Texas on October 3, 1913, daughter of Oscar Wallace and Zelta Mae Sensing Hampton. Dorothy married Marshall H. Jones on January 14, 1942 at the First Methodist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. She has been a member of the First Methodist Church in Cisco, Texas since 1931. She graduated from Cisco High School in 1931 and from Randolph Junior College in Cisco, Texas in 1933. She was a charter member of the E.L. Graham Hospital Auxiliary. In 1947, Marshall and Dorothy opened Jones Electric and ran that business until their retirement in the 1970's. In October 1991 they moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina to be close to their daughter and her family.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Jones; her son-in-law, Lee Wallace; two sisters, Maxine Stamey and Laverne Hayes; and her niece, Jamie Bale.


The family will receive friends at Kimbrough Funeral Home in Cisco, Texas on Friday, June 10, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 pm.

A graveside service honoring her life will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco, Texas at 10:00 am Saturday June 11, 2011 with Mark Callarman officiating.


Survivors include her daughter: Lynn Wallace of Fayetteville, NC; Two grandchildren: Brad Wallace and Anna Wallace Chandler both of Charlotte, NC; Four great-grandchildren: Forbes Wallace, Stewart Wallace, Caleb Chandler, and Sloane Chandler. She is also survived by one nephew, Tom H. Stamey of Fort Worth, Texas; Two nieces: Jeanne Halley of Littleton, Colorado and Cindy Hayes of Denton, Texas.
