Mrs. Dorothy "Dottie" Gantt Drescher, 58, of Lillington passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at her home. She was born in Burke County, the daughter of the late James Alfred Felder and Clarissa Blackburn Felder. Dottie's life was spent caring for others and focused on developing life skills for the mentally challenged. She was a loving wife, mother and avid gardener.

Memorial service will be Noon Saturday, November 5, 2011 at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel with Rev. Keith Miller officiating. Graveside service will be held Sunday at Reeps Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Vale, NC.

She is survived by her husband, Edward G. Drescher, Jr. of the home, son, Allen Gantt and wife Dori of Singapore and grandson, Gunnar Gantt of Singapore, son, Edward G. Drescher III of the home, daughter, Jenna Rose Drescher of Charlotte, NC, daughter, Lee Ann Mallard and husband Chuck of Pollocksville, NC and grandson, Nixon Mallard of Pollocksville, mother, Clarissa Blackburn Felder of Morganton, NC, sister, Patricia Pruitt and husband Darrell of Drexel, NC, brother, James Felder and wife Diane of Charlotte, NC.
