Mrs. Dorothy Wicker Byrd, 83, of Lillington met her Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 30, 2020 after her fight against cancer. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Rory Carless and Bethora McLean Wicker. Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, John Wesley Byrd. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend.

Dot worked at the Harnett County Tax Department for many years where she was known for pleasantly greeting and helping people from the community. She enjoyed volunteering especially at Friendship Baptist Church where she was a long-time member. Dot had a servant's heart, always there to offer a word of encouragement or help to everyone. She certainly served others with a humble heart as her Lord taught her to do.  Dot lived a full life and will be missed by many.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Randy Byrd and wife Kelly of Waxhaw, NC; daughter, Ginger Mann and husband Greg of Raleigh; 2 grandchildren, Morgan and Ben Mann.

A private funeral service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church in Bunnlevel. Burial will follow in Summerville Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Lillington. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, attendance will be limited to immediate family.
