Mrs. Doris Black Woodley, 77, of Lillington passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the home of Donna and Tim Harris. She was born in Lee County, the daughter of the late Percy Malcolm and Edna Earl Black. Doris retired from Civil Service after 25 years of service as a Management Analyst. She was a lifetime member of Ephesus Presbyterian Church in Lillington. Doris was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Jack Woodley; son, Daniel Jack Woodley, Jr. and brother, Ray Cooper Black.

A funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Ephesus Presbyterian Church in Lillington with Rev. Bert Pitchford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home and other times at her home.

Doris is survived by a daughter, Donna Woodley Harris and husband, Tim of Timberlake, 2 grandchildren, Mark Harris and wife, Emily, Melissa Harris Baker and husband, Andy; 3 great-grandchildren, Keegan Paul Baker, Korie Marie Harris and Reese Charlotte Harris; sister, Deborah Black Buchanan and husband, Danny of Lillington; nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; aunt, Alice Black Williams of Wade.
