Mrs. Doris E. Wimple, 80, of Fuquay-Varina passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at her home. She was born in Macon, MI the daughter of the late Donald and Margarite Arnold Prichard. Doris worked as an elementary teacher for 3 years. She also was an artist, painter and sewer. Doris enjoyed growing and arranging flowers. She regularly attended bible studies, book clubs and art classes. Doris spent many years volunteering with various organizations. She was an active member of Kipling United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities. Doris was a woman of faith who put her family and community first. She did her best to make a baby quilt for each great-grandchild. Doris was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Jane and Rhoba.

Doris is survived by her husband of 60 years, Larry Wimple of the home; sons, Ken Wimple and wife Alice of Michigan, Joe Wimple and wife Terrie of Michigan, Brian Wimple of Michigan and Bruce Wimple of Fuquay-Varina; daughter, Carla Paul and husband Johnnie of Lillington; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Charlie Prichard and wife Mary Jane of Michigan, Frank Prichard and wife Ruth of Florida; sister, Joyce Schraeder of Michigan.

A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday October 15, 2016 at Kipling United Methodist Church with Rev. Melinda Ivey officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Macon Cemetery in Macon, MI. The family will receive friends after the service in the Kipling Community Building and other times at the home.
