Mrs. Doris Jean Taylor, 64, of Buies Creek died Tuesday, August 1, 2017. She was born September 23, 1952 in Harnett County. She was preceded in death by her father, Lawson Earl Warren; mother, Geraldine Norris Upchurch; step-father, Donald Keith Upchurch and brother D.K. Upchurch.

Doris is survived by her husband of 31 years, William E. Taylor of the home; daughters, Regina Strickland Urtz (Mark) of Raleigh, Kimberly Strickland Brewer (Brandon) of Smithfield; brother, Kenneth Earl Warren of Buies Creek; sister, Betty Jo Cahoon of Clayton; 4 step-daughters, Angie Taylor of Benson, Wendy Griffin (Frankie) of Angier, Kimberly Hemphill (Bron) of Conover, Dana Simmons (Chad) of Madison; mother-in-law, Zoner Taylor of Buies Creek; 9 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, August 4, 2017 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 1310 South Main St., Lillington, NC 27546 with Rev. Wiley "Buster" West officiating. Burial will follow in Harnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM.
