Obituary

Deloris Brown Salmon, 74, of Broadway, went to be with Jesus in her heavenly home, Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington, NC.

Deloris was born on December 5, 1949 in Long Beach, CA to the late James Caviness Brown and Cecelia Marie Brown.  She was a graduate of Boone Trail High School and Central Carolina Community College.  Deloris worked with Lee County Schools, retiring with 30 years of service.  She attended Fayetteville Community Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir.  Deloris loved her family and enjoyed providing wonderful meals for them.  She was an avid Carolina Hurricanes, Duke Basketball and NASCAR fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Allen Salmon; grandparents, Alvert and Geraldine Brown; brothers, Alvin, and Clarence Brown; sisters, Ruby Fore, and Evelyn Smith; two great grandchildren, Caden, and Cohen Jacobs; brother-in-laws, Woody Salmon, Jimmy Salmon, Keith Thomas, and Donnie Ray Patterson.

Deloris is survived by daughter, Dana Salmon of Broadway, son, Jeffrey Salmon of Broadway, daughter, Amy Dearborn and husband, Chris of Sanford, daughter, Allison Kulhanek and husband, Scott of Cameron, daughter, Crystal Yow and husband, Scott of Broadway, daughter, Lisa Bell and husband, Joe of Broadway, 13 grandchildren, Jordan Salmon and girlfriend, Laura, Caroline Jacobs and husband, Jordan, Allen Salmon and wife, Kristen, Lauren Williams and husband, Bryant, Taylor Holbrook and husband, Matthew, Connor Rollins and girlfriend, McKel, Alyssa Kulhanek, Carson Kulhanek, Meredith Yow and fiancé, Kaleb, Landon Yow, Brittny Schack and husband, Brett, Brooke Bell and boyfriend, Chris Micros, Autumn Bell and fiancé, Aaron; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, James Brown and wife, Susan, Leonard Brown and wife, June, Cecil Brown and wife, Linda, William Brown and wife, Eloise; sisters, Lida Buchanan, and Janet Wheeler; sister-in-laws, Donna Patterson, Phyllis McNary and husband, Lee, and Sharon Thomas, Linda Salmon; brother-in-laws, Jerry Salmon and wife, Ginger, and Curtis Salmon and wife Teresa.

A funeral service will be held 1pm Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Antioch Baptist Church, 6670 Old US Hwy 421, Lillington, NC 27546 with Rev. Scott Yow officiating.  Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends 11am – 1pm  prior to the service at the church.
