Mrs. Delia Gertrude Blanchard Arnold, age 92, of Fuquay Varina died Monday, May 21, 2012 at her home. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Floyd Stanley and Mattie Ausley Blanchard. Mrs. Arnold was preceded in death by her husband Arlie D. Arnold, grandson, Matthew Reid Arnold and a sister, Hilda Blanchard Brown.

Funeral service will be 2:30 PM Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel in Lillington with Rev. Jimmy Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Christian Light Christian Church Cemetery, Fuquay Varina. The family will receive friends at O'Quinn-Peebles Wednesday from 1:00-2:30 PM.

She is survived by a son Gerald Arnold and wife Sue of Raleigh; son, Ronnie D. Arnold of High Point, daughter, Sue Arnold Johnson of Fuquay Varina, daughter, Sheree Arnold McLamb and husband Thomas "Woody" of Newton Grove; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Blanchard and wife Rachel, sisters, Ruth Baucom and husband Roy,Louise Johnson and husband John, Florie Smith, Iris Johnson, JoAnn Betts and husband Donald and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christian Light Christian Church, 4351 Christian Light Rd., Fuquay Varina, NC 27526 or Hospice of Wake Co., 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
