Mrs. Cynthia "Cindy" Cooley, 66, of Lillington passed away November 15, 2017 at her home. She was born in Wake County, the daughter of the late James and Virginia Matthews Baird. Cindy (Bam!) Cooley was full of life and lived for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Baird.

Cindy is survived by her daughter, Tina Michelle Overbey of Youngsville; son, Melvin L. Cooley, Jr. and wife Evie of Raleigh; 7 grandchildren, Christopher, Summer, Hunter, Cameron, Lauren, Caitlyn and Hannah; 5 great-grandchildren, Brooke, Caden, Lucian, Aubrey and Lukas; 3 sisters, Phyllis Stephens of Fuquay-Varina, Pam Boyette of Apex, Angie Brooks of Dunn.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Hilltop Church, 10212 Fayetteville Rd., Fuquay Varina, NC 27526.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses in care of Melvin L. Cooley, Jr., 4125 Weaver Dr., Raleigh, NC 27612.
