Craig Joseph DePriest, 75, of Cary, formerly of Miami, FL, passed away, Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Universal Healthcare in Lillington, NC.

Craig was born March 19, 1948 in Chautauqua County, NY to the late Bland and Phyllis McCarthy DePriest.  He was a 1970 graduate of the University of Connecticut, where he played football.  Craig began a career in education with the Miami-Dade County Public School System, starting as an administrator and assistant football coach at Palmetto High School. He went on to be an administrator at Southridge High School and continued as Supervisor of physical education for the Miami-Dade County Public School System.  He went on to serve as principal for North Miami High School and Redland Middle School.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Nora Sullivan.

Craig is survived by his son, Derrick James DePriest and wife, Gabriele; granddaughters, Mattingly and Reagan DePriest.

A memorial service will be held in late June in Miami, Florida.
