Mr. Clifton Foster Burgess, 86, of Lillington, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021.

Clifton had served in the U.S. Army and was a pillar in the Harnett County farming community.   He was also a devoted son, brother, and friend, who tirelessly looked after his family.  Clifton also loved beekeeping.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at 11 am at Barbecue Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Parsons presiding.

Clifton was preceded in death by his parents, James Carey Burgess and Mary Cameron Burgess; and his siblings, J. C. Burgess, George Burgess, Sam Burgess, Winfred Burgess and Kenneth Burgess.

He is survived by sister, Lucille McLamb of Charlotte; brother, Lindsey Burgess of Lillington; and many nieces and nephews.  He is greatly loved by all his family.

The family will speak to friends following the service at the cemetery.
