Mr. Clarence Tillman Tommy Thomas, Jr., 86, of Lillington passed away Monday, November 30, 2015. He was born in Harnett County, the son of the late Clarence Tillman Thomas, Sr. and Clyde Brown Thomas. Mr. Thomas was the owner of Thomas Construction and Realty which he established in 1972. Prior to working as a local contractor, Mr. Thomas farmed for 16 years. He was a founding member and Elder of Cedar Rock Presbyterian Church. Mr. Thomas later joined Fellowship Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years. He was one of the founding members of Cape Fear Christian Academy. Mr. Thomas served on several local Boards including the original Triangle Bank and Summerville Fire Department. He was well known for his development of elderly/disabled housing in Lillington. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his grandson, Wesley David Thomas; brothers, Harold James Thomas and Oker Lee Thomas.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. James Taylor, Rev. Shirley Bain and Rev. Xavier Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at OQuinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home & Crematory Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM and other times at the home.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sue P. Thomas of the home; daughter, Cynthia T. Milton and husband, Freddie of Lillington, daughter, Sandra T. Taylor and husband, James of Lillington, son, Michael D. Thomas and wife, Carolyn of Lillington; 11 grandchildren, David Milton and wife, Sandra; Christie Yarborough and husband, Jason; Stephen Milton and wife, Ann; Jim Taylor and wife, Wendy; Matthew Taylor and wife, Lisa; Andrew Milton and wife, Sabrina; Michael Thomas and wife, Becca; Jonathan Taylor; Suzanne Hise and husband, Aaron; Christopher Taylor and wife, Amanda; Leslie Perkins and husband, Aaron and Wesleys wife, Jessica Thomas; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Odell Thomas of Sanford, brother, Ray Thomas of Lillington, sister, Noralene Newtown of Lillington, sister, Frances Betancourt of Raleigh, sister, Shirley Bain of Lillington, sister, Ann Price of Oxford and brother, Danny Thomas of Lillington and many nieces and nephews.
