Mr. Charlie Melton, 92, of Lillington, born in Canton, NC passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2016. Charlie was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Julia Melton.
Charlie was a veteran of the US Army. He served in WWII and was a Purple Heart recipient. He will be dearly missed by his family and loved ones, who celebrate that he is at peace with the Lord. Charlie will be remembered for his love of family and friends, his involvement in his church and his love of music.
Charlie is survived by a son, Charles; 3 daughters, Dianna, Teresa and Tina; and 5 grandchildren Adrian, Christopher, Karen, Aaron, and Drew and their families.
The funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 4, 2016 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerome Smith and Rev. William J. Nielsen officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
