Charles Clifton West, 82 of Lillington went to be with the Lord on Monday July 15, 2013 at Hospice of Wake County Hospice Home.

Charles is the son of the late Alonzo and Maggie Jones West. He retired from the Department of Corrections after 30 years. He enjoyed farming, fishing and spending time with his family.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday July 17, 2013 at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Harnett Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home.

Mr. West was preceded in death by a grandson Charles Lee Stack; 6 brothers and a sister.

Mr. West is survived by his wife of 63 years Tynie Naylor West of Lillington; a son, Ronald West and wife Linda of Lillington; 3 daughters, Diane Horton of Lillington, Connie Stack and husband Alan of Monroe, and Charlene Sharp and husband Lloyd of Lillington; a sister, Inez Bruff of Norfolk VA; 8 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
