Mr. Charles Edwin Bain, 82, of Bunnlevel passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born February 21, 1932 to the late Edwin and Cleo Lanier Bain. Mr. Bain served in the US Army and was a Korean war veteran. He was a "retired" farmer and a life-long member of Flat Branch Presbyterian Church having served as a Deacon and Elder. Mr. Bain was a past member of the Harnett County Farm Bureau Board of Directors. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Britt.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday, June 13, 2014 at Flat Branch Presbyterian Church in Bunnlevel with Dr. Michael Armistead and Rev. Bert Pitchford officiating. Burial will follow in Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00-8:00 PM at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, LaVerne Wilborn Bain of the home, 3 sons, Reggie Bain and wife Carol of Bunnlevel, Curtis Bain and wife Beverly of Kipling and Jeffrey Bain and wife Amy of Kipling and daughter Vickie Bain Wilson of Lillington, grandchildren, Ashley Wilder Parsons and husband Chris, Matthew and wife Lauren Byrd Bain, Kristen Wilder and fiancée Richard Shipe, Justin Bain and fiancée Jessica Green, Kyle Bain and Savannah Bain, great-granddaughter, Kennedy Parsons, 2 brothers, Roger Bain of Bunnlevel, Hugh Bain of Lillington, 2 sisters, Muriel Sharpe of Grimesland and Jewel Chambers of Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Flat Branch Presbyterian Church, 130 Darroch Rd., Bunnlevel, NC 28323.
