Cathryn Elaine Green, 68, of Lillington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington, North Carolina.

Born on August 29, 1958, in Harnett County, Cathy was the beloved daughter of Jean Benson Green and the late William "Bill" Green.

Cathy graduated from Wake Christian Academy in 1976 and spent many years building a successful career while forming friendships that would last a lifetime. Her coworkers quickly became dear friends, and many became like extended family to her. Known for her warm heart, infectious smile, and caring spirit, Cathy valued these relationships deeply and remained connected with many of her friends throughout her life. The love and loyalty she shared with others left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Cathy loved her Lord and Savior and cherished her family above all else. She held a special place in her heart for her nephews and niece and was like a mother to them. Cathy often expressed her love through cooking, delighting in trying new recipes and sharing meals with those she cared about.

Cathy will be remembered as a devoted daughter, loving sister, caring aunt, and loyal friend. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, compassion, and generous spirit. Her love for others, unwavering faith, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Cathy is survived by her mother, Jean Green; her sisters, Karen Mills (Joe) and Carolyn Stephenson (Tim); her brother, Billy Green (Whitney); and her beloved nephews, niece, great-nephews, and great-nieces. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 10am-10:45am with a funeral service beginning at 11am at Pleasant Union Christian Church, 2164 Neills Creek Rd, Lillington, NC. A graveside service will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Cathy's memory to Pleasant Union Christian Church or to a cancer research organization of the donor's choice.
