Catherine W. Graves, 89, a resident of Brookfield Assisted Living, Lillington died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at WakeMed Cary Hospital. She was a loving mother, mother-in-law and grandmother (Granny) to her family. She was born May 27, 1922 in Cumberland County to the late Lula Hair and Everton Wood. She retired from Red Cap in Lillington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Waymon Graves and brothers Warren, Allie, Charles, Eldridge and Geta Wood; and sisters, Virginia Faircloth, Beulah Hart, Roney Packer, Viola Graves and Greta Anderson.

She is survived by a son, Edward Graves and wife Dallas of Erwin; daughters, Mildred Page and husband Marshall of Lillington, Marian Brantley and husband Kenneth of Linden; nine grandchildren, Donald (Amy) Graves, Richard (Becky) Graves, Renee Bishop, Tina Hickman, Kevin Graves, Sharon O'Quinn, Marsha (Dwight) Parrish, Mark (Amber) Brantley and Nicole (Andrew) Benbow and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, December 26, 2011 at Friendship Baptist Church in Bunnlevel with Rev. Paul Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in Bunnlevel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, December 23, 2011 at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home in Lillington from 6:00-8:00 PM and other times at her home.
