Carolyn Moody Langdon, 73, of Lillington passed away Monday March 7, 2022, at Emerald Health and Rehab Center.

She was born June 23, 1948, in Raleigh, NC to the late Alma Smith Moody and Richard C. Moody, Sr. Carolyn was preceded in death by her brother, Richard C. Moody, Jr.

Carolyn pursued a career in education as a teacher. Throughout her career, she taught in New Orleans, Raleigh, Sanford and locally in Harnett County. During her time in Sanford, Carolyn served as the head teacher for the Woodrow Scoggins School for recovering teenagers. Carolyn was very passionate about sports and especially enjoyed watching NFL games. She loved to travel and previously spent time in Northern Italy during her college years.

She is survived by her nephew, Richard C. Moody III of Lillington; her nieces, Shannon Moody of Wilmington, Lauren Moody of Spring Lake, and Krystal Moody DiGiorgio of Los Angeles, CA; her great-nephews, Alexander Nuckols and Logan Franco DiGiorgio; and her great-nieces, Arabella Nuckols and Hazel Marie DiGiorgio.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Friday March 18 at O'Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home, 1310 S. Main Street in Lillington. A funeral service will be held Saturday March 19 at 11 AM at the O'Quinn Peebles Phillips Chapel. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery.
