Obituary

Look out heaven here she comes Carole Ann (Devereux) Morone, 76, of Bunnlevel, NC (formerly of Medford, NY) passed away peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2018.

Carole epitomized the generosity of Mrs. Claus and all her elves, the craftiness of Martha Stewart, the humor of Mel Brooks and the soul of Mother Theresa. If you needed ANYTHING, she would either buy it, make it, fix it, or create it. There is no one who knows her for any length of time that will celebrate Christmas without thinking of her – the stockings, wreaths, Santa globes, ornaments, and many other personal creations.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Helene (Hoffman) Devereux, brothers Clifford (Bud) (Rex) Devereux and Bruce Devereux and her son in law Phillip Caffery. She was born January 21, 1942 and grew up in Elmont, NY; graduating from high school at the age of 16. She then became a hair dresser. She left hair dressing to raise her 3 children. Active in the PTA at Eagle Elementary School, as a Girl Scout Leader, Class Mother and volunteer of everything. She then went on to be a psychiatric nurse until her retirement. She retired to Florida and began a third career as a comfort companion for the elderly at the Heron House Assisted living facility in Sarasota, Fl. She fully retired to Bunnlevel, NC where she enjoyed her days with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Patricia Caffery, Kings Mountain, NC, Lisa (Anthony) DellaValle, Meriden, Ct and Darren (Elizabeth) Morone, Bunnlevel, NC; grandchildren Brandon DellaValle, Richard George, Nicholas George, Madison Morone, Aidan DellaValle and Paige Morone.

A visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM Saturday, August 4, 2018 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home & Crematory.

The family would like to extend our gratitude to Universal Healthcare, Lillington, NC and Heartland Hospice for the care provided to her especially in her final days.
