Mrs. Brenda Hawley Smith, 68, of Lillington entered her Heavenly home Friday, January 13, 2023 at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late William Davis Hawley, Jr. and Madeline Ward Hawley. Brenda worked as a public health nurse for the Harnett County Health Department and retired in 2007. She was a devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and Sunday school teacher at Christian Chapel Missionary Baptist Church for many years, in addition to having a card ministry that touched the lives of many people.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Randy Lewis Smith of the home; son, John Gary Black, Jr. of the home; sister, Cindy Hawley Reif of Lillington; nephew, William Davis Reif and wife Lauren, their children, Aubrey Ella Reif and Harrison Davis Reif; nephew, Logan Michael Reif.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Christian Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Harry T. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
