Mr. Brantley Rudolph Blanchard, 92, of Buies Creek, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July19, 2018 at 11 am at Pleasant Union Christian Church with Pastor Greg Lawson presiding. The burial will follow at Harnett Memorial Park with military honors.

Rudolph was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked as a barber for 50 years; and served on the board for Buies Creek Fire Department for more than 30 years. After retirement, Rudolph owned and operated the Buies Creek Storage. He was a deacon at Pleasant Union; a Ruritan; and loved to tend his garden and work in his workshop.

He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Blanchard; and his siblings, Cora Lee Tysinger, Charles Blanchard and Emily Adams.

Rudolph is survived by his wife of 69 years, Nora McDonald Blanchard; son, Samuel Brantley Blanchard and wife Beth of Buies Creek; daughters, Cathryn Bugg and husband Jay of Austin, TX and Jill Eagan and husband Fred of Fuquay; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Page of Lillington; and brother, Wayne Blanchard of Fuquay.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 pm at O'Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home.
