Bobbie Jean Upchurch, 78 of Broadway went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 1, 2014 at her home.

Bobbie was born August 9, 1935 to the late William Bryant and Lettye Rene Baker O'Quinn. Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Roy Franklin Upchurch.

Bobbie was a lifelong member of Spring Hill United Methodist Church. She served as the church treasurer, Sunday School teacher and Choir member. Bobbie was a member of the United Methodist Women. Bobbie worked for the State of North Carolina for over 30 years. The majority of that time she was a bookkeeper for Harnett Co. Schools. She served on the Boone Trail Emergency Services Board of Directors as treasurer. Bobbie enjoyed her yearly family vacations to the beach and playing with her grandchildren.

Bobbie is survived by 2 daughters, Renee Godwin and husband Lindsey of Broadway and Jeana Morrison and husband Randy of Lillington; 2 sisters, Dorothy Morrison of Lillington and Carolyn Rice of Broadway; a brother, Bill O'Quinn and wife Magdaline of Broadway; 4 grandchildren, Christina Furr, Joshua Godwin, Alec Morrison and Gracie Morrison.

A funeral service will be 4:00 P.M. Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Spring Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Williams officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home and Crematory, Lillington.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Spring Hill United Methodist Church, 1960 Spring Hill Church Road, Lillington NC 27546.A funeral service will be 4:00 P.M.
