Betty M. Stewart , age 77 of Buies Creek died Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Harnett Woods Nursing Home in Dunn. A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Nolan Terrance and Ruby Haswell McLean. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years Martin Blake Stewart; a daughter, Deborah Jane "Debbie" Stewart Holmes; 4 brothers and a sister. She retired as an Administrative Assistant with Campbell University Security and was an active member of Buies Creek First Baptist Church.

Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 at Buies Creek First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Michael Simmons officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm Monday prior to the service in the church sanctuary, other times at her home on Sunday, Sept. 15th from 1:00-3:00pm.

Mrs. Stewart is survived by her son, Donald Blake Stewart and his wife Susan of Angier. Brother, Russell McLean of Angier. 2 grandchildren, Jessica Stewart Olive and husband Rian; Jennifer Blake Stewart.
