Obituary

Betty Lou Clack, 82, of Lillington, passed away Thursday July 14, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 5, 1939 in Lillington to the late Bessie Turlington Black and William Henry Black Jr. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Robert "Bobby" T. Clack, two brothers, William Henry Black III and Ronald Keith Black and a sister, Sandra Black Page.

Betty was a devoted, loving mother to her three sons and grandmother to ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She had a servant's heart and dedicated her life to caring for her family and many other children in the community. Betty was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a devoted member at Lillington Baptist Church where she was married to Bobby 63 years ago, served more than 50 years as a Sunday School teacher and in various other ministries.

She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed having her family gathered around her table. She loved to sew and spent many hours tending to her flower garden. She also enjoyed walking, reading and thrifting. She had a gift for encouraging plants and people to flourish and collected friends everywhere she went. Betty's home was a respite for family, friends, and neighbors who were always greeted with her beautiful smile.

She is survived by her sons Robert "Robbie" T. Clack Jr. and wife Sandy, Charles "Chuck" Lee Clack and wife Cindy, David G. Clack and wife Amy; Grandchildren Robin Hallman, Mandy Knowles and husband Barry, Courtney Evans and husband Charles, Evan Clack, Stephen Clack and wife Lindsay, Amanda Hobson and husband Josh, Emily Clack, Adair Ellis and husband Sam, Lauren Clack and Gracie Clack; Great grandchildren Makenzie Thomas, Jamison and Adalyn Knowles, Hadley and Breleigh Evans, Jade Perkins, Veda Clack; Sisters Brenda Yarborough, Hellen Collins and Lynda Black; Brother-in-law Roger Page; Aunt Gilda Turlington; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive family and friends Friday July 15, 2022 from 2 to 4 p.m. at her home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday July 16, 2022 at Lillington Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Selman officiating. A private family burial will follow the service.
