Obituary

Mrs. Beatrice P. Coats, 87, of Lillington passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Johnnie and Geneva Patrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Coats; son, Patrick Coats; siblings, Mildred Malloy, Elvira Bartley, Earl Patrick, Jack Patrick, and Linda Millican.

Bea was a lifelong member of Cape Fear Presbyterian Church in Lillington. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels for over 20 years. Bea enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially Sunday lunches and afternoons.

Bea is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Blair and husband, Jon of Lillington; 2 grandsons, Cameron Blair (Adriana), Kellen Blair; great grandson, Marquis Rosado; brother, Tommy Patrick (Betty), sister, Sandra Harrington (Kelly); numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Bea's home Friday, May 17, 2024, from 1:00-4:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington with Rev. Barrett Payne officiating. The family will host a reception immediately following the service in the Cape Fear Presbyterian Church fellowship hall.

The Coats family would like to thank Rosemary Jones, Nancy Collins, and Angela Robinson for their love and care during Bea's declining health.
