Barbel Klara Wistuba Johnson, 75 of Linden went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Whispering Pines Nursing Home.

Barbel was born on November 24, 1939 in Germany to the late Paulus and Klara Wolf Wistuba. She was preceded in death by a sister, Hilda Meyer; a brother, Rudi Wistuba.

Barbel was a member of Colliers Chapel Church. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting. She enjoyed taking trips to Germany. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 Monday, March 16, 2015 at Colliers Chapel Church with Pastor John Haney officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday, March 15, 2015 at O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home.

Barbel is survived by her husband of 55 years, Alonzo F. Johnson; 3 children, David Johnson and wife Susan of Hope Mills, Barbara Ann Martinez and husband Jose of Linden and Jeff and wife Tina of Raeford; 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
