Mrs. Athelle Parker, 83 of Winterville died Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Mrs. Parker was a native of Harnett County and a former resident of Buies Creek and Lillington. She was the natural daughter of the late Cornelius and Monnie Gregory Coleman and adopted daughter of the late George and Lillian Harmon. She was a retired Registered Nurse, working at Moore Regional Hospital for the majority of her career. She was an active member of Neill's Creek Baptist Church.

A Memorial service will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Neill's Creek Baptist Church, Angier with Rev. Chris Turner officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00am-12:45pm prior to the service in the Church Sanctuary, other times at her home in Winterville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Neill's Creek Baptist Church, 4200 Neill's Creek Church Road, Angier, NC 27501 or to the Kennedy Baptist Children's Home, 2529 Cedar Dell Lane, Kinston, NC 28504-9113.

Mrs. Parker is survived by her husband of 61 years, Roy Caviness Parker; 4 daughters:Carol Parker Brown of Greenville, Brenda Parker Fincher and husband Mike of Winterville, Rebecca "Becky" Parker Smead and husband Steve of Greenville, Judy Parker Moritz and husband John of Washington, NC; Son, Bryan Coleman Parker of Maryland; Brother, Clyde V. Coleman of West Virginia; 4 grandchildren: Karen Brown Thurnau, Neal Andrew Brown, Laurie Athelle Fincher and Valerie Jewett Fincher. 3 great grandchildren
