Mr. Allen Dale Shields, 82, of Lillington passed away Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born in Randolph County, WV, the son of the late Arleigh Henry Shields and Hazel Mildred Vanscoy Shields. In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his brothers, William, Kenneth, Richard and Jack Shields; daughter, Ena LaDon Riggs of Blytheville, AR. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force in Africa, Vietnam, Europe and several U.S. bases and retired after 26 years of service.

Allen is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Dale Shields of Blytheville, AR, Tonya Kay Sharp of Lillington, Sonya Renee Elliott of MI, Natasha Lynn Young of Belton, MO; several grandchildren including, Damian Arrieta of Kansas City, MO, James Dale Alexander McPherson, Ryan Taylor Sharp, Alex Dale Sharp all of Lillington, Amanda Nicole Young of Belton, MO; several great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Grover of Wheeling, WV and Karen Kirby of Moundsville, WV.

A private family service will be held with military honors.
