Alice Bishop Coleman, 84, died peacefully at Phoenix Assisted Living in Cary, NC, on Sunday October 25, 2009, the 59th anniversary of her marriage to Robert E. Coleman, with her children by her side. She was the daughter of the late Duncan James Bishop and Katie Hawley Bishop of Harnett County. She attended Lillington High School and graduated from Boone Trail High School. After high school she worked for several years for Carolina Telephone in Dunn, NC as a telephone operator. Mrs. Coleman was married in 1950 to Robert E. Coleman of Lillington. They lived very happy Christian lives with many great friends and extended family members in Lillington, NC. She was a very active member of Lillington Baptist Church where she held many positions and enthusiastically gave of her time, her love and her great cooking to her friends and fellow church members. Mrs. Coleman worked as a practical nurse for Dr. J. K. Williford at Lillington Medical Clinic where she tirelessly, tenderly and lovingly assisted in the administration of medical care to most of the citizens of Lillington and the surrounding communities for over twenty years. Alice was "Aunt Alice" to many, many nieces and nephews family and very close friends who experienced the joys of her love, laughter and incredible cooking.  Everyone who knew Alice Coleman loved her dearly. Alice is survived by her loving children, Pam C. Hahn and her husband David of New Hill, Eddie Coleman and his wife Kay of Raleigh.  Grandchildren, Scot Hahn and wife Kristi of Cary, Ashley H. Morgan and husband Slater of Fuquay-Varina, Win Coleman and Sally Coleman both of Raleigh.  Great grandchildren, Luke, Lydia, Samuel, and Micaiah Hahn.

In addition, Mrs. Coleman was the oldest daughter of a family of thirteen children including her living sisters, Verta Bass of Dunn, Virginia O'Quinn of Goldsboro, Barbara Jackson of Sanford, Beulah Grindstaff and Lois Buck of Florida.  She is also survived by many sisters and brothers-in-law whom she loved dearly.
