Mrs. Alice Irene McLamb Barefoot, 95, of Lillington passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Emerald Health & Rehabilitation Center in Lillington. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late John and Lucy Lee McLamb. Alice was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Advent Christian Church in Bunnlevel. She enjoyed reading her Bible every day. Alice loved cooking, canning, quilting, fishing, and solving puzzles. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and sister.
Alice was preceded in death by her loving husband, Elwood Barefoot; brothers, Earl McLamb, Waylon McLamb, Theodore McLamb, Jessie McLamb, Garland McLamb, and Elton McLamb; sisters, Ethel Byrd, Josephine Temple, Estelle Cummings, Viola Beasley, and Della Byrd; sons-in-law, Kelton Baker, George "Billy" Dennis
Alice is survived by daughters, Annie Ruth Baker of Vanceboro, Eloise Dennis of Lillington, Brenda Tedder and husband, Thomas of Lillington; sons, John "Bud" Barefoot and wife, Joanne of Dunn, Hubert "Rooster" Barefoot and wife, Bessie of Lillington; 14 grandchildren, 29 great- grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Gertrude Webb of Sanford, Bessie Gregson of Sanford, Pauline Schmidt of Missouri; brother, Floyd McLamb of Pennsylvania; many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington with Rev. Gary Buffkin officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery. Friends are invited to visit O'Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM to pay their respects to Mrs. Barefoot. The family will not be present during this time.

In accordance with current North Carolina COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home requests that everyone in attendance practice social distancing and wear a face covering.
