Mrs. Sue P. Thomas, 88, of Lillington passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 at her home. She was born in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Arthur Pipkin and Elsie Womble Pipkin. Sue was a graduate of Lillington High School where she was Valedictorian of the class of 1949. She was led to the Lord at a young age at Lillington Baptist Church where she played the piano for the church and the Little River Baptist Association. Sue also helped found the youth group, taught Sunday school and played the piano at Cedar Rock Presbyterian Church. She later joined Fellowship Baptist Church where she enjoyed playing the piano and supporting many ministries within the church. Sue passed her love of music to her children and grandchildren and was instrumental in building The Taylors’ gospel ministry.
Sue was also very involved in supporting farm families and the education of youth through 4-H Clubs of Harnett County. Sue was most devoted to her family and friends who fondly refer to her as “Mimi”. She will be remembered as a person full of grace, who was never too busy to lend a listening ear. Sue could be counted on to offer pearls of wisdom and a heartfelt prayer on your behalf.
