Shirley Baucom Jordan

Mrs. Shirley Baucom Jordan, 73, of Fuquay-Varina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 26, 2018.

Shirley was retired from the State of NC after her career in Public Health.  She was a devoted wife, loving mother and Nana to her beloved grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11 am at Christian Light Christian Church with Revs. Jimmy Elliott and Scott Reeves presiding.  The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, J.B. Jordan; daughter, Melissa Smith; and father, W.C. Baucom.

Shirley is survived by three daughters, Cindy Nipper and husband Johnny of Fuquay, Kendra Denton and husband Jonathan of Coats and Kristen Baker and husband Toby of Fuquay; son-in-law, Vander Smith of Fuquay; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; mother, Eula Baucom of Fuquay; and sister, Darlene Revels and husband Jeff of Fuquay.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, September 28th from 6 to 8 pm at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home and other times at Shirley’s home, 2524 Christian Light Road, Fuquay-Varina.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Eric Duberman and staff at WW Surgical; doctors and staff of Wake Med Cary Hospital 3West and ICU; the Wound Care Team at Wake Med Cary Hospital; and the Transitions Hospice House in Raleigh.
