Robert Lee Frye

Mr. Robert L. Frye, 74, of Fuquay-Varina passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 surrounded by family at Rex Heart and Vascular Hospital in Raleigh. Robert was born in Meadville, PA, August 30, 1944 to Harry and Margaret Frye. He was a 1962 graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School and a 1979 graduate of Gannon University. He joined the US Army after graduation from high school. Bob spent 39 years as a Transportation Manager for the following companies: Sunbeam Equipment Corporation, Meadville, PA; Zurn Energy, Erie, PA; ABB Traction (Adtranz), Elmira, NY; ABB Combustion Engineering (Alstom), Windsor, CT.

He enjoyed following NASCAR and collecting NASCAR memorabilia. He also enjoyed golfing, building model cars and working outside taking care of the property. He was very active in his church as chairman of the trustees and president of the Methodist Men.

He is survived by his wife Ann of Fuquay-Varina, NC; daughters: Holly Steckel of Statesville, NC; Barbara Gautier and her husband Todd of Angier, NC; Stephanie Parrinello and her husband Anthony of Holly Springs, NC; step-daughters: Cindy Blaylock of Lillington, NC; Janell Capell of Wake Forest, NC; brother Keith Frye and his wife Cynthia of Meadville, PA; his sister Laura McGuire and her husband Dave of Stanley, NC; four grandchildren; Nicholas Steckel, Brooke Parrinello, Dominick Parrinello and Andrea Ayala; five step grandchildren; Lauren Strickland; Crystal Gee; Scott Capell; Blake Capell and Cameron Capell; several step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan (Harmon), his parents Harry and Margaret Frye and a brother Charles.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Angier United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Teague officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 1:00-2:45 PM and after the service in the church fellowship hall.
