Don Anthony Ferrara

LTC Don Anthony Ferrara, USA, Ret., age 77, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, February 9, 2019.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, February 14, 2019 at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Chapel with Pastor Tim Eyring officiating. Interment to follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM.

Don was born in Long Branch, NJ, to LTC Dominick Ferrara USA, Ret., and Irene Jancovic Ferrara, on January 12, 1942. He graduated from Archbishop Curley Notre Dame High School, Miami, FL, and Rollins College, Winter Park, FL.   During his military career, he served two tours of duty in Vietnam and also served during Desert Storm.

Upon retirement from the Army he was actively involved in his church, Lillington Grace Church of the Nazarene, as well as the local Republican Party and Harnett County Beekeepers Association.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming and beekeeping.  His passions were God, Family and Country.

He is survived by his wife Anna, their children, Anthony Ferrara, Lauren Ferrara and Andrew Ferrara, as well as their grandsons, Conner Ferrara and Landon Ferrara.  He is also survived by his three siblings and nine nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all.
