Carolyn Elizabeth Goff

Mrs. Carolyn Elizabeth Goff, 82, of Lillington passed away Wednesday November 20, 2019 at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington. She was born in Saluda County, SC, the daughter of the late Homer L. Ruff and Ruth Hendricks Ruff. Carolyn was also preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James E. Goff and daughter, Kim Barbour. She worked as an administrative assistant with the NC Prison System in Lillington and later in retail. Carolyn volunteered with Meals On Wheels and was an active member of Lillington United Methodist Church. She loved to read and write poetry as well as painting nature scenes. Carolyn’s passion was listening to and singing Gospel music. She loved spending time with family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carolyn shared her abundance of blueberries with everyone in the community. The family home became known as “Blueberry Hill.”

Carolyn is survived by her son, Jamie Goff and wife Karen; 4 grandchildren, Rachel Robbins and husband Stephen, Jimmy Goff, Danielle Merritt and husband Jay, Justin Barbour and 8 soon to be 9 loving great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home Saturday November 23, 2019 from 1:00-1:45 PM. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Stephen Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in Harnett Memorial Park.
