Starr Freeman Webb



Mrs. Starr Freeman Webb, 69, of Mamers passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017. She was born in Cumberland county, the daughter of the late Enoch Spinks and Bertha Roe Freeman and Wade Cook and Utha Smith. Starr was an active member of Cool Springs United Methodist Church in Broadway where she served in many capacities. She cared for many children in the Mamers community at home for 37 years. Starr loved spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Sherrill Webb, daughter, Dalanie Roe Webb and siblings, E.T. Freeman, L.Z. Freeman, J.A. Freeman, Claxton Freeman, Euris Freeman, Ezra Freeman, Charlie Freeman, Bobby Freeman, Treva Kelly and Mona Seibel.

Starr is survived by son, James “Speedy” Sherrill Webb of Mamers; daughters, Sherry Elliott and husband, Jerry of Sanford, Sonya Webb and husband, Tony Holt of Mamers, Brandy Thomas and husband, Mark of Mamers; 10 grandchildren, Brian Godfrey, Ashley Godfrey Hutchens, Keith Webb, Brandon Webb, Luke Thomas, Brittney Holland, Wyatt Holt, Caden Smith, Macey Thomas and Case Thomas; sister, Vickie Brown of Mamers; brothers, Kenny Smith of Coats and Tim Smith of Lillington; sister, Robbie Cannady of Fayetteville, brothers, Gary Cook of Erwin, Danny Cook of Princeton and Chris Cook of Graham; sister-in-law, Patsy Farley and husband, Don and family.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, January 27, 2017 at Cool Springs United Methodist Church in Broadway with Rev. Ramon Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday in the church fellowship hall following the service.
